Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! The CMA Awards are coming up in a few days. I will have a recap posted of the best moments from the awards a day or two after they air, but today I want to discuss some country singers who have never won a CMA Award.

The first person is Clay Walker. Clay was a very popular artist in the 90s, but surprisingly, he never received a CMA nomination, therefore he never won.

The next person is Chris Young. Chris was nominated for “New Artist of the Year” in 2010 and 2011, and he was also nominated for “Musical Event of the Year” in 2016 for his duet with Cassadee Pope, “Think of You.” Despite having those three nominations, Chris never took home a CMA Award.

The next person is Johnny Paycheck. Johnny was nominated four times between 1972 and 1979, but he never won any CMAs.

The next person is Dwight Yoakam. Dwight had a total of eight nominations between 1986 and 2001, but surprisingly never won.

The last person is Marty Robbins. I think this one is the most surprising because he spent more than 30 years in the country music business and had 94 singles on the country charts. For some reason though, he never took home a CMA Award.

That’s just a few artists who never won a CMA. There are a lot more, but I think these are the most surprising ones. Thanks for reading. I’ll be back soon!
