Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! I’m sure most of you guys are familiar with Jana Kramer. She had a couple hits such as “I Got the Boy” and “Why Ya Wanna” several years ago, but today I am going to talk about a song she released four months ago. The song is called “The Story.”

Before I get into details about the song, I want to give you a little background of what the song was written about. Last year Jana got divorced from her husband Mike Caussin after six years of marriage, and they have two young children together, Jolie and Jace.

Jana wrote the song “The Story” for her kids. In the song she is explaining to them that she is no longer in love with their dad, but she is telling them in sort of a fairytale way to make it easier for them to understand. In the chorus of the song she sings “Once upon a time he loved me, once upon a time I loved him too, it all fell apart in a moment, Lord, I wish it wasn’t true, cause you deserve the perfect family, the fairytales you know so well, instead of sitting here listening to the story I wish I didn’t have to tell.” My heart breaks every time I hear this song, because there are so many little kids that are affected by divorces and I’m sure it’s hard for them to understand why their parents don’t love each other anymore.

In the last chorus of the song she sings “Once upon a time it was us three, starting over all brand new, dreaming of the happy ending I always wanted for you, cause you deserve the perfect family, the fairytales you know so well, instead of sitting here listening to the story I wish I didn’t have to tell.” I think this is a good way to end the song, because she’s saying that maybe some day they will have the happy ending they hope for.

If you haven’t heard this song yet please go check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks for reading I’ll be back soon!
