Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! I don’t know if many of you watch American Idol, but if you did happen to watch it last season, you would be familiar with the name HunterGirl. Hunter was the runner up, and the winner was another country singer, Noah Thompson. They are both very talented singers, but today I want to focus on Hunter.

HunterGirl is originally from Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee. She later moved to Winchester, Tennessee, and now lives in Nashville. Hunter started performing at her grandfather’s church at the age of three, and started writing her own songs at the age of nine. Hunter has opened for superstars such as Kane Brown, Alan Jackson, Florida Georgia Line, and Sara Evans, just to name a few. Now that you know a little more about her, let’s talk about some of her music.

If you have heard any of her songs it was most likely “Red Bird” which was her single from American Idol, but she has been releasing music since 2018. Just this year she released an ep called “One Day.” I love all five songs on this ep, but I want to talk about the title track on this ep.

“One Day” is one of my all time favorite love songs. This song is about growing old with the love of your life and not wanting to live without them. This is a very sweet song, but it also has some comical lines in it. The first verse says “When your tattoos are faded, your hair has gone gray, and there’s not enough space left on the cake. Trade your ray-bans for readers, your blanket has a heater, or your son runs to take the keys away, I’ll be there.” I like when someone can put a little comedy in a love song. I don’t think I have ever heard a song that talks about a heated blanket.

Several weeks ago I got the chance to see HunterGirl open for Tracy Byrd. She is a very good performer. After her set I got the chance to meet her, and she is one of the nicest celebrities I ever met.

Hunter has a voice that I picture hearing on the radio. Hopefully some day that will happen, but for now please go check out her music.

Thanks for reading, I’ll be back soon!
