Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! One day in 1996, Dean Dillon and Skip Ewing got together for their only songwriting collaboration. Dean said in an interview that he always knew the song they wrote that day was a great song, but it got tossed aside like so many other songs do. After 28 years of this song just sitting, collecting dust, it has finally been recorded.

The song is called “Would if I Could” and it was just released as a duet between ERNEST and Lainey Wilson. This song is on ERNEST’s album “NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE.” It is a great song that was written in a really beautiful way. I love the way their voices sound together in this song.

This song got me thinking about how many songs are written, but never get recorded. A report from last year revealed that there are about 120,000 new songs released every day on streaming platforms. So, if there are that many songs being released each day, just imagine how many songs are written each day. It’s crazy to think that a song as good as “Would if I Could” was ignored for almost 30 years, but there are so many other songs that we don’t even know about that unfortunately never get the chance to be recorded.

Thanks for reading. I’ll be back soon!
