Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! So far this year, there have been many great albums in country music. So, today I am going to do some brief reviews of some of my favorites.

The first one I want to talk about is “Chapter & Verse” by Gabby Barrett. It is full of songs about being a wife, mother, and Christian. One of my favorite songs on the album is “Dance Like No One’s Watching,” which was written by Luke Combs. Most of the album has a modern country sound to it, but she also has some gospel moments as well, including the last track “The Verse: Doxology (Amen)” with Phil Wickham.

The next album is “REBEL” by Anne Wilson. This is Anne’s debut country album. You may recognize her from her contemporary Christian songs such as “My Jesus.” This album is full of great songs such as “Strong” and “Rain in the Rearview.” She has some big collaborations with Chris Tomlin, Jordan Davis, and Lainey Wilson on this album. I think this is the perfect album for her to make her debut in country music with because it has a modern country sound with a great message.

The next album is “Rise & Fall” by Scotty McCreery. Scotty is one artist who never disappoints. He has some really fun songs on this album like “Can’t Pass the Bar,” but he also has some really sweet, heartfelt songs like “Love Like This.” I love how he always leans more into the traditional side of country music.

The next album is “Terri Clark: Take Two.” This is a whole album of Terri Clark redoing some of her biggest hits with other country stars such as Cody Johnson, Lainey Wilson, Carly Pearce, and Ashley McBryde. You can hear new versions of some of Terri’s best songs such as “Better Things to Do” and “Poor, Poor Pitiful Me” on this album. I love how these new artists are keeping these songs alive.

The next album is actually just an EP, but it’s too good not to talk about. HunterGirl just released a brand-new EP called “Tennessee Girl” this past Friday. It has some really great songs like “Ain’t About You” and “Clockworks.” Some of you may remember HunterGirl from American Idol a few seasons ago where she finished second. Since then, a lot of big things have been happening for her including playing CMA Fest and opening for Luke Bryan. This EP has some really great songs on it, and I’m sure she has a lot of other big things coming in the future.

The last album I want to talk about is “Unbroke” by Sara Evans. Sara sounds just as good on this album as she did on her debut album in 1997. There are many great songs on this album, such as “Pride” and “21 Days.” I think she is one of the best female artists in all of country music, and she did not disappoint with this album.

If you have time, I would recommend listening to some or maybe even all of these albums. I’d love to hear what your favorite albums are so far this year. I’ll be back soon!
