Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Today I am going to review the album “Sayin What I’m Thinkin” by Lainey Wilson, the queen of bell bottom country music (country music with a flair). This is one of my favorite albums from the past almost two years. If you are one of those people who say traditional country music is dead, you need to listen to this album. Lainey is keeping country music alive with her southern drawl and her storytelling in her songs. There are a couple songs on this album I want to talk about for a minute.
The first song I want to talk about is “Rolling Stone” which is my favorite song on the album. In this song she sings about following her dreams and not letting anyone hold her back. Her voice sounds awesome in this song and this song also has a great sound.
The next song I want to talk about is “Sunday Best.” There is no denying this is a country song. She tells a story of drinking because of a breakup, and then she pulls into a church parking lot, but she’s too drunk to go inside so she just drives by. Like I said this is a true country song. Her vocals in the chorus of this song are the best vocals on the whole album.
The last song I want to mention is “WWDD” which means “What would Dolly do?” This is a really fun song to listen to because I think everyone loves Dolly Parton. In this song she sings “When life rings my southern bell I just gotta ask myself, what would Dolly do?”
There are a lot of other good songs on this album that I didn’t mention, so I would recommend for you to go listen to this album. Let me know what your favorite songs on this album are. I’ll be back soon!
