Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Taylor Swift is definitely the most popular singer right now. I don’t know if there are many people who come close to her level of popularity. Pop music fans love her, some country music fans still like her, and I guess some football fans might grow to like her too. It seems like everybody likes at least one of her songs. But there was a time when Taylor Swift wasn’t the biggest artist on the planet.

In 2006, Taylor was just a teenage girl who had hopes of being a country music star. She released her debut single, “Tim McGraw” which was about having the perfect summer with her boyfriend before he went off to college.

She was 16 when she released “Tim McGraw,” but what’s even more impressive is that she wrote it when she was 14. Even though she was that young, she wrote the song about a true situation in her life. Her boyfriend was a senior, and he would be leaving for college in the fall. She then tied this idea with her favorite Tim McGraw song, “Can’t Tell Me Nothin.” She then took this idea to a frequent collaborator, Liz Rose, and they finished the song in 20 minutes.

It’s crazy to think Taylor went from a hopeful teenage singer to the biggest star on the planet.

Thanks for reading. I’ll be back soon!
