Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! A couple days ago I heard one of the best songs I’ve heard in a while. The song is called “Ones Before Me” by Grace Leer. Grace competed on “American Idol” a couple seasons ago, but she didn’t make it too far in the competition. After “American Idol” I didn’t hear much about her, but I am so glad I discovered this song.

“Ones Before Me” pays tribute to all the great country singers who came before us. Some of them have passed away and some of them are still alive. In the song she sings about wanting to rewind to a time when Loretta sang her mind. Also when Waylon and Willie were higher than high. The beginning of the song says “I wanna raise up a glass to the legend of the past, not the junior, but the Hank with a white hat. Wanna turn it up to ten, dial up some WSM. Maybe hear something from the man in black. Call me faded, call me old school, but I still rock Lucchese boots when I’m in the mood to go back.” When I first heard this song I had no idea what Lucchese boots are, but I found out it is a Texas based western boot company. We learn something new everyday.

“Ones Before Me” is off of Grace’s self titled EP, which was released last year. I would recommend checking out her EP, because it is very good.

Thanks for reading. Let me know what you think. I’ll be back soon!
