Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! In 2007, Carrie Underwood released one of her best songs. I know she has many great songs, but the one I am talking about today is “Just A Dream.” This song makes me wanna cry every time I hear it. It tells the story of a girl who is getting ready to marry the love of her life two weeks after she turns 18. The man she is going to marry is in the military. But right before the wedding, he gets killed while serving in the military. The song says when she heard the news that he died, the flowers fell from her hands. I know that is a very minor detail in the story, but it’s little things like that that make it such a great song.

My favorite part of the song is the second pre-chorus which says “And then they handed her a folded up flag and she held on to all she had left of him and what could’ve been. And then the guns rang one last shot and it felt like a bullet to her heart.” I think this part of the song says the most. This girl just lost the love of her life. Now all she has left of him is the flag she was given. I don’t think it could’ve been written any better.

I also wanted to mention that today would’ve been Naomi Judd's birthday. It is her first birthday since she died, so I think we should just keep her family in our prayers today. I’m sure it’s not an easy day for them.

Thanks for reading. Let me know what you think. I’ll be back soon!
