Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Over the past ten years, there have been 347 number one songs. I'm sure if I said the title of these songs, you would identify the song by who sang it. For example, if I said, "Humble And Kind” you would think of Tim McGraw. Or if I said, "Drunk On a Plane” you would think of Dierks Bentley. It makes sense that you would think of the artists who sang these songs, but it seems like we tend to forget about the people who wrote these songs. Songwriters are a huge part of music in general, so today I am going to talk about the songwriters who have written the most number one songs in the past ten years.

At number five on the list is Rhett Akins. Rhett had some radio success in the 90s with songs such as “Don't Get Me Started” and “That Ain't My Truck.” In the late 2000s, he began writing songs for other artists. He wrote many songs with fellow songwriters Ben Hayslip and Dallas Davidson. These three men became known as “The Peach Pickers.” Over the past ten years, Rhett has written 18 number one songs, such as “Small Town Boy” by Dustin Lynch, “Life Changes” by Thomas Rhett, and “When She Says Baby” by Jason Aldean.

At number four on the list is Josh Osborne. Josh has written songs for artists such as Eli Young Band, Blake Shelton, and Tim McGraw. Over the past ten years, Josh has written 22 number one songs, such as “Hard To Forget” by Sam Hunt, “All The Pretty Girls” by Kenny Chseney, and “Body Like a Backroad" by Sam Hunt.

At number three on the list is Ross Copperman. Ross has written songs for artists such as Billy Currington, Luke Bryan, and Keith Urban. Over the past ten years, Ross has written 23 number one songs, such as “If I Told You” by Darius Rucker, “Woman, Amen” by Dierks Bentley, and “Nobody But You” by Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani.

At number two on the list is Shane McAnally. Shane has written and produced songs for artists such as Sam Hunt, Reba McEntire, Kenny Chesney, and Jake Owen. Over the past ten years, Shane has written 24 number one songs, such as “Marry Me” by Thomas Rhett, “Make It Sweet” by Old Dominion, and “Champagne Night” by Lady A.

So far, the numbers have been very close, but that's about to change with number one.

At number one on the list is Ashley Gorley. Ashley has had over 300 songs recorded by artists such as Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, and Thomas Rhett throughout his career. Over the past ten years, Ashley has written 44 number one songs, such as “Crash My Party” by Luke Bryan, “You Should Be Here” by Cole Swindell, and “Good Vibes” by Chris Janson. 44 number one songs in ten years is crazy. Years from now, he should definitely be inducted into the “Country Music Hall of Fame.”

Thanks for reading. I'll be back soon!
