Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! As I sit here writing this, I'm listening to Dolly Parton’s “The World of Dolly Parton” record. She hits it out of the park with every song on the record, but one song stands out from all the rest. The song is called “Daddy Won’t Be Home Anymore.”

This is a song about a woman who is married to a man who dies while fighting in war. She is heartbroken and has no idea how to tell their kids their daddy won’t be home anymore.

The first half of the first verse is written in such a good, yet sad way. She says, “As I look around the little house we were so happy in I think of all the happy times we'll never see again Then I break down and start to cry, the children ask what for I can't find a way to tell them that Daddy won't be home anymore.”

Country music is known for sad songs such as this one. Death, heartbreak, loneliness, and many other subjects have made awesome hit country songs.

Dolly is and will always be one of the greatest country artists of all time and songs like this one proves why.
