Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Today, I am going to talk about one of my favorite Alan Jackson songs, “Chasin' That Neon Rainbow.”

The song was written by Alan Jackson and Jim McBride. Jim had this song idea for two solid years and never did anything with it. He just wrote down the title “Chasin' That Neon Rainbow, Livin' That Honky-Tonk Dream” and just carried it around in a notebook. It wasn't until he was talking to Alan Jackson that he decided they should write this song together.

Alan was telling Jim about how he would drive down to Florida for shows and play five or six sets a night. By the time he paid the band and bought gas, he wouldn't make any money from these shows. Then he would go to Arkansas the next weekend and do the same thing. Alan also told Jim about how he couldn't get a record deal, but other people no sooner moved to Nashville and they got a record deal. After this conversation, they sat down and wrote “Chasin' That Neon Rainbow” together. The song made it all the way to number two on the charts.

Thanks for reading. If there is anything you would like me to talk about on my blog, please let me know in the comments. I can do anything country music related. I'll be back soon!
