Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! I think one of the most overused lines in country songs is “Doing what we do.” I'm sure you have heard this line in many country songs. A couple of examples are “Long Live” by Florida Georgia Line when they say “Just out here doin' what we've always done,” “Amazed” by Lonestar when they say “I don't know how you do what you do,” and “Homegrown Honey” by Darius Rucker when he says “Did your momma teach you how to do that thing you do?”

I never really thought too much about this line, but recently, I've seen many people complain about how meaningless and overused this line is. The more I heard songs with this line in, the more I started to agree with this argument.

What does the line “Doing what we do” really mean? I don't think anyone can really answer that question. It's just one of those lines that is in so many songs, but if you would take that line out of a song, it wouldn't make the song any different because it doesn't mean anything.

I'm not saying anything bad about songs with this line because I like the songs I mentioned earlier, but I'm just saying this line doesn't do anything for a song.

Thanks for reading. Please let me know what other lines you think are overused in country music. I'll be back soon!
