Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Shania Twain played a huge part in creating the sound of modern country music. So today I am going to be talking about how she played such a huge part.

When producer Robert “Mutt” Lange heard something special in Shania’s music he decided to work with her. Country record labels weren’t thrilled with this decision because Robert was known for his work with rock bands such as AC/DC, Foreigner, and Def Leppard. This would end up being one of the best things that happened in Shania’s career. Robert and Shania brought pop and rock sounds to country music. This was a fairly new thing for country music. Robert and Shania’s professional relationship turned romantic, which lead to them getting married. Their marriage ended because Robert cheated on Shania with her best friend, who he ended up marrying, and Shania ended up marrying her best friend’s husband. I know it’s a bit of a confusing situation. There is no denying Robert and Shania were a good pair for country music.

Shania’s album “Come On Over” has sold over 40 million copies. It’s hard to say, but this most likely wouldn’t have happened without the help of Robert bringing a fresh new sound to country music.
