Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! It’s a big deal when an artist releases their debut single to the radio. If the radio disc jockeys and the fans like the song, it will easily go number one and the artist will have instant success. However, a debut single doesn't always have success, but that doesn’t mean the artist’s career is over.
Throughout the years, there have been many successful country artists who did not have a hit debut single, but still went on to have a successful career. Today I want to take a look at some of these artists.
Morgan Wallen is one of the biggest stars on the planet right now, but when he released his debut single “The Way I Talk,” it only made it to number 30 on the charts.
Chris Young has had a very successful career as well, but his debut single “Drinkin’ Me Lonely” only made it to number 42 on the charts.
The next artist is Kane Brown. Kane’s debut single “Used to Love You Sober” only went to number 35 on the charts.
The next artist is Chris Janson. Chris’s debut single “Til a Woman Comes Along” only went to number 52 on the charts.
The last artist is Dylan Scott. Dylan’s debut single “Makin’ This Boy Go Crazy” only made it to number 54 on the charts.
This is proof that the radio is not good at knowing which artists will be popular in the future. A lot of times, they ignore debut singles, and then they probably kick themselves for not paying attention to artists before they become superstars.
Thanks for reading. I’ll be back soon!
