Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Since today is Halloween, I thought I would get in the spirit and tell you a ghost story that is believed to be true. I’m sure if you are a fan of Loretta Lynn, you know she has a ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

Loretta and her husband Doolittle bought the property in 1966, and they moved in a year later. The ranch was built in 1876. Fans can go and stay at one of the campsites on the property, but you should do so at your own risk. There are many stories about the ranch being haunted. I personally don’t believe these stories, but I thought I would share them with you since it is Halloween.

The land once belonged to a slave owner, and slaves were forced into labor there. A battle also took place there during the “Civil War.” There are reportedly 19 soldiers buried on the property. Loretta believed their spirits never left. When her son Jack was little, he woke up one morning because a ghost of a soldier was pulling on his boots. He could feel the ghost trying to pull his boots off his feet. After this happened, both of Loretta’s sons refused to sleep in that room. That room is now the only room that is off limits to visitors.

Another ghost that has been spotted is a woman who roams around the graveyard, because she is mourning the loss of her child who died at a young age. Loretta said when she kept seeing this ghost on a regular basis, she knew it was time to leave that house.

I’m not saying Loretta was lying about all of these ghost stories, but it’s just hard for me to believe they are actually true. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

Thanks for reading. Happy Halloween everyone! I’ll be back soon!
