Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Waylon Jennings passed away in 2002, only a couple of months after being inducted into the “Country Music Hall of Fame.” After his death, his record label released a few albums of some of his unreleased music. We now have new Waylon Jennings music coming in 2025.

Shooter Jennings, Waylon’s son, revealed he has been working on exploring some old recordings of his dad from the 70s and early 80s. In his statement about the new music, he said, “When I was young, in the house that I grew up in, there was a room that was always locked. The ‘Storage Room’ is what my parents call it. I have vivid memories of dozens of grey boxes in cubbyholes with notes jotted in marker on the outside. I knew what was in those boxes was my dad’s work. What I expected to find was a catalog of all of my dad’s albums and recordings. I knew there were a few songs that were never released for whatever reason, so I had my fingers crossed that I would maybe find something special and rare along the way that I could share with you.”

He then went on to say that he is currently in possession of a treasure trove of previously unheard full band Waylon Jennings recordings. He still has to take time to explore, prepare, and mix these songs, but he intends to share them with fans sometime next year.

It will be interesting to hear which songs Waylon locked away for so many years. Since Waylon passed away, we’ll never know why he never put out this massive collection of music, but I know artists always end up with so many songs. It would be impossible for every song ever written for an artist to be released in their lifetime.

There have been many artists who have released music after their death and fans still love it even though they’re not here anymore to sing these songs. I’m sure Waylon’s fans will love this collection of music.

Thanks for reading. I’ll be back soon!
