Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! It has been almost two months since country music suffered the loss of Naomi Judd on April 30, one day before she would have been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Until now, I couldn’t really think of what to say about her death because it was such a surprise. It was only a couple weeks before her death that she performed on the CMT Music Awards as part of a Judds reunion that later turned into an announcement of a ten-city Judds reunion tour. With so much to look forward to, nobody expected her life to end in such a terrible way, which I won’t get into details about because I’m sure everyone knows by now.

Within the past year or two, I read Naomi’s book “Love Can Build a Bridge” which is one of the best books I have ever read. I would recommend that if you have not read it yet, you should definitely take the time to read it. I won’t give too much away but I will tell you this, Naomi has a wonderful story of how she was dirt poor and eventually she became a country music superstar. That’s all I’ll say, and I’ll let you go and read the book.

The Judds have many good songs but the one that stands out from all the others in my opinion is “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Old Days).” This is a song that I think everyone can relate to because at some point in everyone’s life I’m sure they have wished they could go back to the good old days when everyone was honest and trustworthy, and everyone got along. The Judds had so many good songs and I’d love to know what your favorite is so please let me know in the comments. If you have any ideas of a blog that you would like me to do, please let me know. I’ll be back soon!
