Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! On June 16, 2022, two years ago yesterday, I posted my very first blog post called “Single Review.” In that post, I talked about some of my favorite new releases to country radio. Today, I want to discuss the same songs I did two years ago and if they became hits.

The first song I talked about was “She Had Me At Heads Carolina.” by Cole Swindell. This song brought Jo Dee Messina’s song “Heads Carolina, Tails California” back to life, and actually helped her earn the number one song she never got back in the 90s.

The next song I talked about was “Can’t Nobody” by Mackenzie Carpenter. This song did not become a hit because Mackenzie was a brand-new artist two years ago. She is still a new artist now, so I think it will still take a little time for her to get the recognition she deserves.

The next song I talked about is “Heart Like a Truck” by Lainey Wilson. Lainey has been on a roll since her song “Things a Man Oughta Know” went to number one. So far, Lainey has had seven number ones in a row, and “Heart Like a Truck” was one of them.

The next song I talked about was “What He Didn’t Do” by Carly Pearce. Carly has been having a lot of success recently with her Chris Stapleton duet “We Don’t Fight Anymore.” She also just put out a new album called “Hummingbird.” She also had a lot of success two years ago with “What He Didn’t Do,” which made it to number two.

The last song I talked about was “Like I Love Country Music” by Kane Brown. This is one of my favorite Kane Brown songs. It’s very creative how he references other country songs and artists in this song. This song went to number one.

It’s crazy to think I’ve been doing this for two years now. It will be fun to see how much this blog grows in another two years. I still have so many ideas of things to do in the future. Thanks for reading. I’ll be back soon!
