Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Earlier this month I posted a review of Kelsea Ballerina’s new EP “Rolling Up the Welcome Mat.” But now that I’ve had time to listen to it more, I want to talk about one of my favorite songs on the EP called “Mountain With A View.” I’ve tried not to pick a side with this divorce because I like both of them, but I’ve also heard some things about both of them that led to the divorce. But I won’t get into those things right now. I’ll just say I think they both had something to do with getting divorced.
The song “Mountain With A View” is about realizing their marriage wasn’t going to work out. The chorus of the song says, “I’m wearing the ring still, but I think I’m lying. Sometimes you forget yours, I think we’re done trying. I realize you loved me much more at 23. I think that this is when it’s over for me.” I think this song says so much. You can hear the heartbreak in this song.
The whole EP is really heartbreaking, but this song even more heartbreaking than the other songs because I think it is the most well-written song on the EP.
Thanks for reading. Please let me know what you think. I’ll be back soon!
