Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Last year Carly Pearce released her third album “29: Written in Stone.” Since this is my twenty ninth blog today I thought it would be fitting to talk about it.

In my opinion this is the best album she has released so far in her career. I feel like she has really returned to her modern day traditional country sound on this album. Most of this album was inspired by her divorce from fellow country singer Michael Ray. So I know it’s not the happiest album, but some of country music’s best songs are not happy either. There are 15 songs on this album, so I won’t be able to talk about all of them today, so I chose a couple of my favorites to talk about.

The first song I chose to talk about today is “Dear Miss Loretta,” which she sings with Patty Loveless. In this song she sings about finally understanding why Loretta Lynn sang about certain things. Because when she was younger, Loretta’s songs were just fun songs to sing along to, but now she is living some of Loretta’s songs, so she has a new appreciation for Loretta’s music.

The next song I want to talk about is “Liability.” This is a play on the word liability, because in this song she is actually singing “Your lie ability.” It’s pretty creative if you ask me. I’m sure you can tell this is another song inspired by divorce. In this song she sings about him cheating on her and lying about it. It’s not a very happy song, but it’s a very good song.

The last song I want to talk about is ‘Should’ve Known Better,” which is my favorite song on the album. It is another divorce song, but there’s something special about this song. In my opinion, this song has the best lyrics out of all of the songs on this album, and she has the perfect voice for this song. Please go check out this song if you haven’t already.

A couple other songs on this album I would recommend listening to are “Diamondback,” “Your Drinkin’, My Problem,” and “Day One.” But the whole album is really good so please go listen to it. Thanks for reading, I’ll be back soon!
