Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! There are so many country singers who were very popular at one time, but now you don’t hear anything about them. It’s like they don’t exist anymore. So I chose several of these people, and I found out what they’re up to these days.

The first person I chose is Lee Ann Womack. Lee Ann had a lot of success with songs like “I Hope You Dance” and “I’ll Think of a Reason Later.” But in 2014, she parted ways with her record label, MCA Nashville. She then signed a new record deal with SugarHill, which is a smaller label, based in North Carolina. While she was with MCA, she was being pushed to record pop country, which is most likely why she left them.

The next person I want to talk about is Chris Cagle. Chris had success with songs such as “I Breathe In, I Breathe Out” and “What Kinda Gone.” In 2015 he decided it was time for him to retire from the music business, which makes sense because he had a thirteen year career and he had decent success in those thirteen years. He now lives in Houston, Texas.

The next person I chose is Gretchen Wilson. Gretchen had huge success with songs like “Here for the Party” and “Redneck Woman.” But after her career really took off, she quickly realized she was not ready for the life of a superstar. After signing her record deal, she spent the next 12 years of her life on the road touring nonstop. After releasing three albums in 2013, she took some much needed time off to spend with her daughter. After taking several years off, she released her album “Ready to Get Rowdy” in 2017. She never made the comeback she wanted to though, because in 2018, she was taken into police custody after having a fight with a fellow passenger aboard a flight from D.C. to Connecticut.

The last person I want to talk about is Jessica Andrews. Jessica was only a teenager when she started out in the music business, but after her song “Who I Am” came out, she became popular. She has not released any new music since 2008, because in 2009, she switched record labels, but they dropped her before she released any new music. In 2018 she had a baby, so it seems like she is focusing on family at this point in her life.

Let me know who your favorite country singers are who just sort of disappeared like the ones I just talked about. Thanks for reading, I’ll be back soon!
