Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! I have talked before about how record labels pay radio stations to get their artists played, and how radio stations always do it because there is money involved. It's never up to the fans to determine what the top songs are each week, but if it were up to the fans, what would the top songs be this week? To determine the answer to that question, I looked up each song on the Mediabase country chart on Spotify to see how many streams each song has. For those of you who don't have Spotify, I will take a minute to explain to you what I did.

When you search for an artist on Spotify, their five most popular songs will come up first, and it will tell you how many streams those five songs have. Some songs on this week's chart are not even marked as one of the artist's most popular songs, so I was unable to see how many streams those songs have, but since they are not one of the most popular songs it doesn't matter because they wouldn't be one of the most streamed songs.

The top five songs on the Mediabase country chart this week are “Need a Favor” by Jelly Roll, “Love You Anyway” by Luke Combs, “Bury Me In Georgia” by Kane Brown, “Your Heart or Mine” by Jon Pardi, and “Angels” by Thomas Rhett. I will now tell you what the top five songs should be based on the streaming numbers.

The number one song this week should be “23” by Chayce Beckham. This song is at number 39 on the chart, but it should be number one because it has 108,613,542 Spotify streams.

The song that should be number two is “Everything She Ain't” by Hailey Whitters. This song is at number 17 on the chart, but it should be number two because it has 81,738,702 Spotify streams.

The song that should be at number three is “Religiously” by Bailey Zimmerman. This song is at number six on the chart, but it should be number three because it has 63,856,902 Spotify streams.

The song that should be at number four is "If You Go Down (I'm Goin' Down Too) by Kelsea Ballerini. This song is number 19 on the chart, but it should be number four because it has 58,797,527 Spotify streams.

And the song that should be number five is “Need a Favor” by Jelly Roll. This song is at number one on the chart, but it should be number five because it has 55,952786 Spotify streams.

This shows you that it doesn't matter what songs people listen to the most, it just matters what songs radio stations will get money from. I think it should matter more about what songs fans want to hear and less about what songs record labels push on the radio.

Thanks for reading. I'll be back soon!
