Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! My all time favorite Christmas song is “Mary, Did You Know?” Dylan Scott sings my favorite version of this song. The lyrics of this song are so powerful. It kinda makes me wonder even though Mary knew she was going to give birth to the Son of God, did she know He would do so many amazing things such as walk on water, give sight to a blind man, and calm a storm with his hand. I can’t imagine how Mary must have felt when she found out that not only was she pregnant, but she was pregnant with God’s one and only Son. I’m sure she was scared and excited all at the same time.

There are so many versions of this song. Another version I really like is Dolly Parton’s. Dolly adds another little part to the song which says “Mary, if you knew how wonderful for you that He’d choose you to bring to us the king of kings. God bless you Mary.” I think this little part adds so much to the song. Mary was very lucky to be the chosen person to carry Jesus, and I think this song makes you think a lot more about how lucky she was.
