Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Maddie and Tae released volume 2 of their “Through The Madness” EPs. I think these are some of the best songs they’ve released in their whole career. Each one of these songs were written very well and they all sound very good. Both Maddie and Tae are very talented people and their voices blend very well together. I want to talk about a couple of the songs on this new EP.
The first song I want to talk about is “Drinking to Remember.” There are so many country songs about going to the bar to drink away the memory of your ex, but this song is different. Instead of wanting to forget about the good times they had with someone, they are singing about drinking to remember someone, because their love was too good to forget. In the chorus they sing “Pour his favorite in this glass, I want a little take me back, back when we’d be leaving here together, I’m gonna sip it nice and slow, take the edge off, let it go, cause every day of missing him gets better, but a love like ours is too good to forget, so I’m drinking to remember.”
The next song I want to talk about is “Watching Love Leave.” This is a song about a relationship that ends in a breakup. The relationship was so good, and it’s hard for them to just sit back and watch it end. I think this song was written very well, and I think the vocals sound really good also.
The last song I want to talk about is “More Than Maybe.” In this song they are singing about reasons why a relationship didn’t work out. In the chorus they sing about many things that could’ve caused it to come to an end. At the end of the chorus they sing “There’s one thing I’m sure about baby, I deserve more than maybe,” which basically means instead of her saying maybe it was this or maybe it was that, she deserves something better than questioning everything. Another line in this song that really stands out is “With love, if it ain’t yes it’s no.” I think that is a great line, because there shouldn’t be a maybe.
Thanks for reading. I will actually be posted another blog later today which will be a review of Kelsea Ballerini’s new album. So stay tuned! I’ll be back in a little bit!
