Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! It was announced today that Alan Jackson will be honored at this year’s “CMT Artist of The Year” celebration. Alan was chosen as this year’s “Artist of a Lifetime.”

Alan will be celebrated for his career that has lasted three decades. He recorded 35 number one songs such as “Chattahoochee” and “Don’t Rock the Jukebox.” Alan has also released nearly 60 music videos. He has won both “CMA Video of the Year” and “ACM Video of the Year” for videos such as “Midnight in Montgomery” and “Drive (For Daddy Gene.)”

Previous “CMT Artist of a Lifetime” winners include Randy Travis, Reba McEntire, Loretta Lynn, Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers, and Merl Haggard. That’s a pretty awesome list if you ask me.

The honorees for this years “CMT Artists of the Year” are Carly Pearce, Luke Combs, Kane Brown, Cody Johnson, and Walker Hayes. Overall I think this is a pretty good list. Carly had a great year on country radio, Luke always has really good success with anything he releases, Kane has had an awesome year in country music, Cody had a big breakthrough moment on mainstream country radio, and as much as I hate to admit it, Walker had a pretty great year in country music. I don’t think he has ever released a song that sounded country, but I guess a lot of other people love the sound of his music. Everyone has their own opinion.

Thanks for reading. Please tune in to the “CMT Artists of the Year” show on October 14. I’ll be back soon!
