Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Throughout the years, many country singers have had songs banned from the radio. Some were banned for good reason, and some not so much. Artists like Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Tanya Tucker, Tim McGraw, and many others have all been banned from country radio at some point in their career. One artist who got banned from the radio may surprise you. That artist is Carrie Underwood.

You may be wondering what Carrie would’ve said that was so controversial that made the radio ban her. The answer is, nothing.

Carrie never had any reason to be banned from the radio, but in 2011, she was banned from a station in Ottawa and many other Canadian stations stopped playing her for a while.

The reason for this ban is that her then-boyfriend, Mike Fisher, who was a very popular hockey player, was traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators.

Mike’s fans were so upset about the trade that they demanded the station in Ottawa stop playing Carrie’s music. Stations all over Canada stopped playing her music for a while as well, all because of a trade she had nothing to do with.

I think it is crazy for someone to be banned from the radio because of hockey, which has nothing to do with music. I guess it was easier for the station to give in to their listeners than go against what they wanted.

Thanks for reading. I’ll be back soon!
