Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Today I am going to talk about one of the best Christmas songs of all time. It’s called “The Christmas Guest.” I don’t know if it is really considered a song, it’s more like a poem with music in the background. This poem has been done by Johnny Cash, Reba McEntire, and Grandpa Jones.

“The Christmas Guest” tells the story of a shopkeeper named Conrad. The Lord comes to Conrad in a dream and says He is going to visit Conrad. As Conrad is waiting for the Lord to come visit him, three strangers come to his door. All three of them need help in some way, so Conrad helps them.

At the end of the day, Conrad was sad because the Lord didn’t come to visit him. The end of the poem is “So he went to his room and knelt down to pray and he said dear Lord, why did you delay? What kept you from coming to call on me? For I wanted so much your face to see. When soft in the silence a voice he heard, lift up your head for I kept my word. Three times my shadow crossed your floor, and three times I came to your lonely door. I was the beggar with bruised cold feet. And I was the woman you gave something to eat. I was the child on the homeless street. Three times I came in and each time I found the warmth of a friend. Of all the gifts love is the best. And I was honored to be your Christmas guest.”

I think this is one of the best Christmas stories I’ve ever heard. Please go listen to it if you haven’t already. Let me know in the comments what your favorite Christmas song and Christmas movie is. And if you know any other stories like this let me know also. Thanks for reading, I’ll be back soon!
