Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Today, I am going to talk about one of my favorite Brooks and Dunn songs, “Cowgirls Don't Cry.” At the beginning of the song, they sing about a man who is teaching his daughter how to ride a horse. After she falls off several times, he tells her that cowgirls don't cry, and she needs to get back on the horse. Later in the song, they sing about the girl when she is grown up and married. Her marriage isn't a very good marriage, but she remembers what her dad told her when she was little about cowgirls not crying.
At the end of the song, when the girl's dad dies, his last words are “Cowgirls don't cry.” This part gets me every time. It is such a good story song that even though it is sad, it is still one of my favorite Brooks and Dunn songs.
I'll just take a minute to tell you about some things I have planned. On Monday, I will post a recap of the “CMT Awards.” I will also have a review of Megan Moroney's debut album, which comes out at the beginning of May, so stay tuned for those couple of things.
Thanks for reading. I'll be back soon!
