Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Keith Urban was just announced as the next recipient of the ACM Triple Crown Award. In the ACM’s 60-year history, Keith is only the twelfth artist to receive the award.

An artist has to continually be on top of their game to receive this award. In order to qualify, an artist has to win New Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year (male, female, duo, or group of the year), and Entertainer of the Year awards.

The award was first introduced in 2005 with six artists who qualified for the award years, or even decades prior. Those artists were Merle Haggard who qualified in 1971, Mickey Gilley who qualified in 1977, Barbara Mandrell who qualified in 1981, Brooks & Dunn who qualified in 1996, The Chicks who qualified in 1999, and Kenny Chesney who qualified in 2001.

Since then, five other artists have received the Triple Crown Award. Those artists include Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, and Lainey Wilson.

The ACM Awards will air this Thursday night on Prime Video, where you can see Keith Urban receive this award.

Thanks for reading. I’ll be back soon!
