Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! Miranda Lambert announced yesterday that she is leaving her record label “Sony Music Nashville” after nearly 20 years. Sony is the only label she was ever signed to. She was only 19 years old when she signed with them, so all of her albums were released with Sony, as well as all of her radio singles. Basically, all the success she has had in her career was with Sony. Miranda didn't give any further details as to what her plan is going forward. It is likely that she will sign with another label, or she might even release music independently for a while. I, personally, don't know why you would want to be an independent artist if you don't have to be, so that's why I'm expecting her to sign to another label.

Miranda isn't the only artist who has left Sony recently. In the past six years, there have been many big name artists who have left Sony. Carrie Underwood left them in 2017, after about 12 years of being with them. Kenny Chesney left them in 2018, after being with them for over 20 years. In 2020, Tim McGraw left Sony after only three years with them. Just a couple of weeks ago, Brad Paisley announced that he has left Sony as well.

It seems somewhat strange that so many artists have left the same label in just a few years. It could just be a coincidence, or maybe there is a reason for so many people leaving this label that hasn't been made public yet. Either way, I'm excited to see what the next step will be for Miranda.

Thanks for reading. I'll be back soon!
