Since then, she’s had solo success with “Weren’t for the Wind” and another hit duet with Riley Green called “Don’t Mind if I Do.” Now she’s back with another hit song, “Choosin’ Texas,” which Spotify named the top country song of 2025.

So, why is this interesting? Well, this song just came out less than three months ago. That’s right, the top country song of the entire year is not even three months old.

Keep in mind this is according to Spotify which is based on streams. It’s not the radio telling us this was the top song that everyone is tired of because they played it to death. This is what the fans are listening to. Since the song was released on October 17, it has racked up 83,562,778 streams on Spotify.

It’s crazy to think of how many songs were released this year and none of them came close to the success of a song that wasn’t even around for half of the year.

I think people fell in love with this song because it has such a 90s country sound to it and it takes people back to a time when pop stars and rappers were not involved in the country music industry. It was a time when country music was country.
