Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! As we enter a new year, it’s always fun to guess which artists are going to have success this year and which artists are going to have a breakout year. As I was looking over this week’s Mediabase country airplay chart, I couldn’t help but notice how many new artists are currently in the top 50 with their debut singles.
There are currently six debut singles on the chart , which is crazy to think the radio is accepting that many new artists into their rotation. It will be interesting to see how popular these artists will be this time next year, but for now let’s take a look at these artists.
At number 44 on this week’s chart is “Burned Down Heaven” by Chase McDaniel. Chase is a 28-year-old native of Greensburg, Kentucky, who began singing at age three and began writing songs at age 12. He moved to Nashville in 2016 and started getting some attention on social media in 2022 when his song “Project” went viral.
At number 25 on this week’s chart is “Weak” by Preston Cooper. Preston is a 22-year-old native of Fredericktown, Ohio, who started singing around age 14. After high school, he started working as a mailman in his hometown and became known as “The Singing Mailman” for singing on his route. After being discovered by The Warren Brothers in Ohio, Preston moved to Nashville to pursue his music career.
At number 24 on this week’s chart is “Wish You Well” by Vincent Mason. Vincent is a 25-year-old native of Roswell, Georgia, who began his music career in 2020 after the COVID-19 pandemic made him decide to focus on music. He wrote his first song during his Christmas break in college.
At number 21 on this week’s chart is “Golden Child” by Meghan Patrick. Meghan is a 38-year-old native of Bowmanville, Ontario. I’m sure you’re thinking Meghan has been in the country music scene for a while now, and she’s not a new artist. That is partly true; however, Meghan has been relevant in Canada for a while, and she is just now expanding her audience in America. Meghan formed her first band around age 13. She professionally launched her solo career in 2016 with her album “Grace & Grit.”
At number 19 on this week’s chart is “Ends of the Earth” by Ty Myers. Ty is an 18-year-old native of Austin, Texas, who was inspired by his father, who was a singer-songwriter who performed locally. Ty began writing songs around age eight. He signed a record deal in 2024.
Lastly, at number nine on this week’s chart is “House Again” by Hudson Westbrook. Hudson is a 21-year-old native of Stephenville, Texas, who began writing songs during his freshman year of college in 2020. He still lives in Texas and commutes to Nashville to record and work on new music. Both Texas and Nashville have a big country music scene that could easily make him hit it big in either place.
Thanks for reading. I’ll be back soon!
