Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! The ACM Awards are coming up tomorrow night on Amazon Prime Video. Shania Twain will be hosting the show and some of country's biggest names will be taking the stage to perform.
The "Entertainer of the Year" award is the biggest award of the night. It always shows you who has been the most consistent star in the genre throughout the year. This year's nominees are Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, Megan Moroney, and Morgan Wallen. Today I want to take a look at some previous "Entertainer of the Year" winners.
The award was first given out in 1970 to Merle Haggard. Since then, 29 artists have been honored with the "Entertainer of the Year" award including Garth Brooks, who has won the award more than any other artist in history with six wins. Alabama comes in at second place with five wins and Kenny Chesney comes in at third with four wins.
Other artists who have won multiple times are Roy Clark, Hank Williams Jr., George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and Lainey Wilson.
It's very hard to say who might take home the award tomorrow night. All seven artists have worked really hard this year and had a lot of success both with charting singles and touring. I think it's going to be very close. Chris and Lainey are the only ones who have won the award previously, so it is possible we could have a first-time winner. Tune in on Prime Video to find out who will take home the award.
Thanks for reading. I'll be back soon!
