Welcome back to Country Music 4 Ever! It's hard to believe we are more than halfway through the 2020 decade. It seems like just yesterday we were looking forward to beginning a new decade, thinking it was going to start out great, which we soon learned it didn't, but I won't get into that because you know what I mean. The 2020s have been a great decade for country music so far. There have been some amazing hit songs and others that never really got the attention they deserved. Today I want to discuss who has been dominating the genre so far this decade. We'll take a look at who has been the most consistent artist at the top of the country charts.

Before I begin, I just want to say since the beginning of 2020 there have been a total of 177 number one songs by 77 artists plus a few pop artists who have released collaborations with country artists that I won't take time to mention. Out of all of those artists, there was one that has released more number ones than any other artist so far this decade. That artist is Morgan Wallen

Since 2020, Morgan has released 18 number one singles including, "More Than My Hometown," "Sand in My Boots," "Wasted On You," "You Proof," "Thought You Should Know," "Last Night," "Chasin' You," "Thinkin' Bout Me," "Lies, Lies, Lies," "Love Somebody," "I'm The Problem," "Just In Case," "I Got Better," and "20 Cigarettes." He also had collaborations such as "Man Made a Bar" with Eric Church, "Cowgirls" with Ernest, "Mamaw's House" with Thomas Rhett, and "I Had Some Help" with Post Malone. Morgan doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. He has been selling out concerts and consistently releasing new music including a duet with Ella Langley called "I Can't Love You Anymore," which I'm sure will be going number one in just a matter of time. It seems like Morgan is on track to being the biggest country artist of the decade. I know we still have a few more years until we know for sure.

Right behind Morgan is Luke Combs with 14 number one songs since 2020. To save some space I won't list all of his. Luke has been one of the biggest names in country music for a while, however, I don't know that he is on track to beat Morgan as the biggest artist of the decade. He has not been touring as much so he can be home to help his wife raise their sons. There is no doubt when we look back on the decade in ten or twenty-years Luke will be remembered as one of the greatest modern country artists, but I don't know that he will have the most number ones though. I respect him for the decision he made to take some time with him family. I think that's the greatest decision he could have made.

The other artists who had number one songs this decade are Jelly Roll, Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett, Sam Hunt, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Lainey Wilson, Jordan Davis, Blake Shelton, Scotty McCreery, Justin Moore, Hardy, Parmalee, Riley Green, Bailey Zimmerman, Ella Langley, Dustin Lynch, Jon Pardi, Eric Church, Lee Brice, Kenny Chesney, Parker McCollum, Cole Swindell, Cody Johnson, Dylan Scott, Tyler Hubbard, Shaboozey, Lady A, Dan & Shay, Jimmie Allen, Jake Owen, Brett Young, Gabby Barrett, Carly Pearce, Miranda Lambert, Jameson Rodgers, Russell Dickerson, Florida Georgia Line, Chris Young, Nate Smith, Post Malone, Maren Morris, Travis Denning, Chris Janson, Maddie & Tae, Matt Stell, Lauren Alaina, Devin Dawson, Chris Lane, Darius Rucker, Niko Moon, Blanco Brown, Chase Rice, Elvie Shane, Carrie Underwood, Walker Hayes, Zac Brown Band, Mackenzie Porter, Michael Ray, Chris Stapleton, Brad Paisley, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Breland, Ashley McBryde, Mitchell Tenpenny, Warren Zeiders, Ernest, George Birge, Koe Wetzel, Chayce Beckham, LOCASH, Corey Kent, Chase Matthew, and Tucker Wetmore.

Who will be the artist of the decade? It's hard to say. Thanks for reading. I'll be back soon!
